Ocean Express has consulted with government agencies in order to obtain all necessary permits in a timely manner. A summary of key project milestones are as follows:

June 2003 FERC issued a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS). A public meeting to receive comments on the DEIS was held in Hollywood, Florida on July 28, 2003.
November 2003 FERC prepared a Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS). FERC concludes that approval of the proposed AES Ocean Express project with the appropriate mitigating measures as recommended, would have limited environmental impact.
January 2004 Received FERC Certificate authorizing construction, operation and maintenance of pipeline.

Received Broward County Department of Planning and Environment Protection (DPEP) Environmental Resource License.
May 2004 Received Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Environmental Resource Permit.
